tomorrow should be the big day for the Marans eggs! The last time I candled I saw dark shadows in 14/15 eggs..... I'm hopeful!

I've got the same hatch day as you. Have you seen any action yet? I swear I keep seeing one rock, but it might be my eyes playing tricks on me. No internal or externals pips. I'm going crazy waiting.

You can candle it if you want, but another poster responded to your question and since she has done what you have done I would take that advice, I have not added eggs at a later date, I put them all in at the same time so my advice is not from experience..

its a cronic respitory infection that stays with them even if treated. It will pay down to offspring, so you shouldn't breed them. Mg causes uri often

I lost 2 chicks last night both were healthy and fuzzy..I don't know why...My chick in critical condition is starting to thrive..

Some chicks just fail to thrive. I trust in Mother Nature to know its for the best. Glad to hear one is tough and making a comeback.

This hatching business is quite the emotional roller coaster! I haven't seen any rocking in 24 hours. I know its only day 19, so it helps to just be patient. I remember this from last year - I may have just missed the action while attending to other things. These are the longest 3 days ever! I'm sure they'll be fine.
