Feed 3wk old chics?

I have three week old chic - we came home with starter feed. How long do you keep feeding the starter feed? I use layer pullets for my older "girls" -I think the babies are too young for that. Thanks!!

Starter feed until they are fully feathered and then switch to grower. Layer feed only when they are ready to lay. The extra calcium is bad for younger birds.

Thanks - when I am ready to have the little one in the coop with the big girls ( which I know won't be for awhile) do I mix the food?

Usually when I have mixed aged chickens all together like that I will put them all on Purina Flock Raiser and just offer oyster shell seperately for the layers for calcium. It works out well.
