Feed and water. How far apart?

I'm building a new coop. Can the water and feed be next to eachother or should they be apart? How far apart? Thanks!

I don't put water in the coop. Don't want the mess of spilled water and wet bedding. Water is in the run. So is food unless it's pouring rain. If I were to put food and water in the coop I would want them far enough apart that chickens could stand comfortably butt to butt at each item with walking space between. I would also want space between the wall and the feeder/water for walking unless these are wall mounted styles.
