How much calcium is too much for adult males? I was thinking about mixing Purina Layena/Startena at 50/50 to get about 25% protein. That would put the calcium at about 1.75 MIN to 2.5 MAX.

You might find the quail waste the feed as they will pick out the favorite and dump the rest. When we’ve switched feeds a few times, we blend for several days to a week to transition to new feed, but boy do they waste a lot when we do this. For calcium, I zip tie a cuttle bone to their cage. Nd they enjoy pecking at it and eating it.
