Ok, DH went to the feed store and brought back a 50# bag of 16% layer feed and 10# bag of BOSS. Our B.O. chicks as big as they are are only 10 weeks old. Not sure when we could get back there since we don't have a vehicle and had to bum a ride to get there. Right now I have about half a 20# bag of starter/grower. Is it to soon to feed them layer or can I use it and supplement with some other food source? Thank you.

Too Soon.

Swap the Layer back to the store for Raiser or Grower. Layer feed is for laying hens. Your pullets won't be laying until August, more than likely. Layer formula has extra calcium that is needed to expel an egg shell every day. Without the ability to rid their bodies of all that calcium through egg laying, the risk is that it backs up in their renal system.

Or, at least dilute the layer with the starter you have left. Feed 50/50 mix until you can get back to the store.
