Looks like I able to successfully integrate my two younger birds with the existing hens. However tomorrow they will be 12 weeks old and from my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) should still be kept on starter food till laying age. Besides completely separating them again what is a good way if any to keep the younger birds eating the food they should be eating and the laying hens eating what they should be eating? Right now all the laying hens are sucking down the starter food and of course the younger birds are lowest on pecking order so they don't get a chance to really eat it. Is it bad for the younger birds to be eating the layer feed? Thanks in advance!

Switch the entire flock over to chick starter, All Flock or Flock Raiser with a container or two of oyster shell on the side for free choice feeding by the active layers and you're done for the life of your flock.
