Hens just started laying so I am giving them.oyster shell on top grit and feed obviously can I mix it all together or should I have seperate feeders for all

It's best to have a separate grit tub

I mixed once and they wasted the grit scratching to find the pellets

With separation they will take grit as they need it

We've always put ours together, they've been prettty good about picking through it. Depends on your chicken personalities I guess lol

If they free range, they don't need grit at all.

If they are on layer pellets they only need Oyster Shell if the egg shells are thin

Well we ran out of chick food, I was wondering what we should start or keep feeding our chicks now, they just turned 15 wks I think.

And...lol what happens if a rooster eats laying pellets? would it be like a man taking women's hormone pills LOL...or would it be just fine?!
