feed mill experience

i was starting to get a little depressed since the only distributor of fertrell in texas said they could sell me a bag for $85 delivered, 6 bag minimum....but looks like (crossing fingers) i'll get my feed. the feed mill got the ingredients to their mix and said they can put it in the feed that way. i think my neighbor was also giving him H E double hockey sticks and finally got tired of us nagging women calling every day about the feed. LOL

i'll have to buy a ton at a time but it comes out to $11.79 a bag for the 20% feed. that sounds much better than $15.95 a bag. a savings of $4 a bag.

i went and picked up my ton of feed the other day. i was really surprised at how mealy it was and stinky! LOL

that kelp really smells. some of my chickens LOVE it while some of the others kinda just look at it. since it's 20% feed, i thought i'd mix a little of it with my sweet feed i give my bulls. they made this crinkly thing with their noses and huffed and puffed. took a couple of bites and then walked off!

now, my horse can't get enough of it. he happened to stumble upon some spilled feed and it looked like he was trying to lick the ground. it's too mealy for him so i've been careful not to get it near him.

the broilers are eating it but not clean like the crumbles so i've been mixing the two feeds for them.

everyone's laying great eggs, but i need to eat some recent ones to make sure they taste the same.
