Since I can't build anything, I ordered the "real deal" from Australia. I've had them up for two days now.
The good. We had a huge rainstorm here yesterday and the food remained dry! It was wonderful. I had my old feeder under a cover and it would always get wet and I wound up throwing out a lot of food after every rain.
The bad. The food doesn't seem to be flowing out of the inside tube. I use Countryside Organic chicken food that has a lot of loose powdery stuff and that seems to be what's damming up the flow.
Will the hens learn how to loosen the food? Do I need to shorten the inside tube somehow to allow for more flow?
Has anyone else had any experience with these feeders? I have contacted the company this morning but haven't heard anything back from them yet.
Just worried. I don't want my girls going hungry.
