Feed options are limited

You could probably find the name of the feed company on the bag you have, and go to their website (if they have one) You could ask them if they make an all-flock with 20% protein. If they do, you could ask your local feed store to order a bag for you. Since they don't normally carry it, you would probably have to pay for it ahead of time, but it shouldn't be too bad. Many feed stores will special order for you, as long as they know they won't get stuck with it and not paid for it.

I agree with this. Whatever brand the store carries, they should be able to order a bag of a different feed from this brand for you. (maybe grower, maybe all flock) Since they are delivering a big shipment to the store anyway, you shouldn't have to pay shipping charges, you'll just have to pick it up at the store when it comes in. My local feed store doesn't always have what I want but carries 2 brands of feed and will order anything I want from either of these brands.

My experience with family run feed stores has been less than stellar, but I prefer to feed high quality feed and not everybody does this. Have you looked into Scratch n Peck feeds? They make starter, grower and layer mashes and it's organic. Store locator says that multiple stores in San Diego carry their products. https://www.scratchandpeck.com/store-locator/
