I have an elderly cat (she is 21) that gives you the pathetic look and pitiful meow like she hasn't eaten in weeks. When you go to the food bowl to check you see she only ate a little of her wet food but wants FRESH!!! She likes to lick the goo off and then she could care less. She doesn't quite have me trained yet since I will only flip over the wet puck so she can lick the other side.

I have another one that has started fussing if the DOG'S dish is empty. She doesn't eat the dog's food, just wants to make sure the dog has food in the dish. Well, that and she likes to LICK the top of the fresh dog food.
