Feed question?

Hi
My local TSC has been out of bird seed for 3 weeks. Since i have no seed i can not feed my birds with the right nutrition. So, i bought a 50lb bag of purina scratch grains and mixed it with chick starter and red grit. Will this mix be a good diet for my birds?

they say you shoulden't really mix grit in with their food, as they can easily ingest to much if they pig out. Have it in a seprate contaner and let them monitor the amount they eat them selfs. Ive fed my pigeons chicken food a few times before, but only in a pinch, and not for long. this should be ok short-term, but keep checking your feed store for pigeon food. good luck, happy pigeoning!

That is fine until you get your regular stuff back. You can always feed them layer pellets.
