30% protein non-medicated from Tractor Supply Co, $18.99 for 50 lbs. Feed used from birth to death regardless of how old they get.
I only have soft shell issues when there are 6 to 8 week old hens in the aviary, I do supplement egg shells once per month maybe, not enough to keep them regularly topped off with calcium.

For what it's worth, I too get my feed from Tractor Supply. It's literally on my way home so it's very convenient.

I feed Dumor Chick Starter (28%) and I supplement daily with meal worms... I know the fat is high but it's cold here right now plus they gather around me all excited when they know it's time for their treat.. kinda like this...

.... LOL and they have a constant supply of oyster shells.
