Feed storage

I’ve been storing feed in a galvanized trash bin for awhile and they are good. I keep it inside the garage. I recently got more chickens, hence more feed. I usually keep the feed inside the bag but now that’s not possible because they don’t fit. Can I just dump the feed straight into the bin? Will the feed spoil or get moldy? I keep it inside the garage.

I dump mine in a galvanized can. Never had a issue.

I think I remember @aart saying they get two bags in one divided can.

Probably depends on climate, mainly humidity and how much temperature fluctuation you get.

Humidity is low enough here so I can store it directly in the can without issue.

Yes, but I add the feed into the bags in the can by scooping,
too hard to slide the bags in while they are full.
I keep crumbles in one bag and scratch in the other.
