Feed Store Rant!

Guess I'm lucky. I do business with Callahan's General Store here in Austin almost exclusively. If the person you ask doesn't know the answer they'll find the person that does. If they don't know they'll say so. No B.S. answers. Guess that's why they've stayed in business for over 30 years.

Hi OldGuy43, That looks like an amazing place! Texans really know how to do things right. I am originally from Texas. I was imagining what kind of similar ad my tiny feed store here in town might look like. It made me laugh. They are small and overpriced. I travel 15 miles a week to buy from a less expensive feed store. The same feed store that supplies the onein our little town.

I got some silkies from TSC a few weeks ago, the girl said all the ckicks with feathered feet were silkies... so I wonder how many people left the store with a box of d'uucle chicks!

I had to tell her she was incorrect, and showed her the silkies vs the other chicks. Black skin, dark beak legs and 5 toes were the easiest way to tell the difference.

URG!!

Often there are regulations regarding where stores can purchase animals to sell.

You may be right, but it doesn't seem to be the case here. My feed stores are always buying and selling a motley crew of secondhand animals. LOL

Urg! I was put on hold, rerouted, manager is out, um um....

and Supposed to get a call back tomorrow! They were very polite though. I am hoping they do call so i don't have to track them down. but i may just go in if I can't get him on the phone. I will keep you all posted for sure!
