Feed substitution

Is it possible to feed meat birds starter feed (24% protein) or do they need specifically 21% protein. I have seen posts of people feeding game bird and turkey feed, both high percentage protein (~28%).

The reason is I cannot find broiler feed that is UNmedicated. All that the local coop carries is show broiler medicated. But I can find UNmedicated chick starter. The price difference if minor.

Any thoughts

That is good. Some starters are only 22%. I think it's more about how long you want to raise them.......they get so stinky and dirty. Good Luck!
