🦟 I collected a lot of flies from our windows and the quail go nuts for it.
We get so many mosquitoes here I was thinking of setting up one of these fan traps and feeding the victims to our quail.

🌱Are there safe herbs I can feed my Japanese quail? I saw some articles on feeding them small amounts of coriander seed, is it safe to give them the cilantro/coriander greens?
What do y’all give your quail?

Very good for them is Oregano, nevermind if dried or fresh, ... mine love it.
Then, esecially fresh, Dandelion, Stinging Nettle, Rosemary.

These are the ones, coming first in my mind ... I am feeding mine these too.
But give them fresh herbs/vegies just 2 times a week to avoid diarrhea.

I don't think you should be giving them cilantro or nightshade plants like parsely. Tomatos aren't good either. We have a thyme bush and they eat it sometimes. I'm not to sure about it though.

Kale is good, (flowers, leaves, any part of it.) clovers, grass, ants (even tho most of these aren't herbs :) ) our quails just have kale like very day. no moderation. :)

I have loads of oregano and rosemary from the garden! Will see what they like 😊
Do you find these alter the taste of their eggs at all?

I’ve only given them dandelions so far and all they do is lay on it while pecking furiously 😆

Our kale isn’t in the ground yet but there will be plenty when they’re planted! Thanks for the tips!
