1) Is there a chart or approximate amount of feed each chicken requires per day (we are contemplating feeding a certain amount per day, rather then the automatic feeder option...because the new hens we have clear out the feeder in one day...wasting a ton of is scattering it all over the floor of the coop, when the old hens would make the automatic feeder last well over a week without scattering any of the feed about...)
2) what temp would be TOO cold for a momma silkie hen and one silkie baby (about 4 or 5 weeks old) to be out in...there is not a coop for them, they would be in a 'predator free' area but subjected to weather) It might get as low as 45F degrees during the night.
