I've heard of Boss, whole corn, cracked corn, scratch, etc. I don't know which ones work best for what though. I am in CT and the chicks are 8 weeks old now. I gave my last flock cracked corn in the am in their run for something to do. What should I do this time? I want them to still eat their real food but want them to get what they need for extra heat energy. Thanks in advance

I sprinkle a little cracked corn for my flock to scratch around in before bedtime. You're right, it does help warm their bodies. It helps me get them in for the night too. Just remember that the corn provides little nutrition...It's like candy to a baby, so a bedtime snack is a good idea for the extra treat things.
