Chickens are going on 4 months old. I had to buy a different brand crumble than I normally get. It was Sunday and the feed stor was closed so I got a bag at tractor supply. They are not eating like the used to. I also started letting them free range, they love it. Just wondering if I should switch to a different food, or if maybe they are scratching up their own grub all day and are not quite as hungry as they used to be hen they only got the crumbles to eat.

Chickens don't like change. I tried Dumor once and my birds refused to eat it. They wanted their brand. It's up to you if you want to wait them out. They should eventually eat it though, it's just a matter of how long it will take.

I switch my chickens' food regularly depending what feed store I'm at. There's never been any drama. If they are hungry they eat. I guess some people have chickens that are pickier. I would suspect that they are probably scratching up some good stuff as well. I wouldn't worry too much. They will eat (eventually) if they need to.

True, depends on the bird. (I did have a parakeet die once when I was away 'cause my parents changed its food and it literally would not eat, granted they're not the most aware pet-sitters..............)

Check the mill date on the food from tractor supply. They are notorious for selling old food. Maybe your chicks aren’t eating the food because it’s gone bad. I myself have seen bags that are 3+ months old still being sold.
