feed

hi all,
i have a male and female chinise quials they are round about 6 months old i just wanted to know what do i feed them at the moment i am feeding them budgie food and thay do have grit.
Last month they laied 2 eggs both fertile but they never hatched, they have not laided an egg since ..why??

am a little scared in case they have something wrong with them as these are my main breeding quails

Are you talking about Chinese Blue Breasted Quail aka button quail or another breed? Either way I think you should be giving them a much better quality of food. Most folks give them game bird or turkey crumbles with a protein of 20% or higher. also add insects and greens for a well rounded diet. If they are not getting enough food they will not lay also be sure the female especially is getting extra calcium by giving her ground oyster shell or even bird grit. If they are button quail then they should be getting a mix of 50% crumbles and 50% high quality finch seed. hope this helps.
