Feeder for fermented feed upright?

So I searched on here about feeders to use for fermented feed and saw some that are kinda a half piece of pipe which makes sense if you want to go out every day to feed your chickens. Is there any way to have fermented feed in a self feeder? I made a couple of different ones and then I saw about fermented feed and want to try it but I don't want the food getting stuck in a awful lump inside my tube feeder! Also how many feeding spots do I need for 18 chickens? As in I'm guessing they won't take turns with the one spot I have? I'm totally new and learning as I go! Help!

I am not aware of a self feeding feeder that works for fermented feed.
I believe that most all fermented feeders feed their flock daily.

I use a glass pyrex baking dish.
I would guess you may need two feeders...not sure.

I have not used fermented feeds for chickens yet, but look forward to trying it in the future.

I have, however, used fermented feed for goats. I made it on a three day cycle useing three buckets. Once it is ready it has a short shelf life, so I can not imagine that there is any way that you could get by feeding it any other way than daily.

That's exactly why there's no upright feeder for fermented feed, it will clump, it won't dispense evenly, etc. And if you want to keep the consistency a certain way it can't just be left out for days on end as it does start to dry up.

I use cat/dog bowls for FF. I was using 2 little bowls for 4 chickens to reduce pecking issues. For 18 I'd use at least 2 larger bowls to start, and adjust from there if there seems to be an issue with some of the birds getting their share.

If you want to use fermented feed, you will have to feed your birds on a daily basis. I don't consider that to be an issue, b/c I interact with them at least several times/day anyways. I also consider that putting out a daily ration of FF will go a long way to deterring rodents and other undesirable beasties, compared to putting out a never ending supply of dry feed in a tube feeder.

I made a couple gutter feeders. Those work well, and I use them when flock size is up around 50 birds. But, with less than 30 birds, I find it just as easy to plop the feed in 2 or 3 large rubber or dog food bowls.

FYI, I have 28 LF, full grown birds. They go through 50# of feed which is fermented every 6 - 8 days, depending on time of year.

Thanks guys that's what I was wondering. I don't mind feeding them every day but can't always so I can have an option of fermented or not in different kinds of feeders I guess.
