Feeder idea

I've been struggling with those annoying round feeders. They take up space and waste money because chickens don't even eat half the food! But, I've found a solution-the chicken feeder 3000. It prevents food and space waste! Made with parts all from the hardware store!

Yes, great that you found a solution to the waste problem! I like to use those small black rubber tubs. I don't have much waste unless they turn them over.

Welcome to BYC! I made my feeders out of PVC and an angled elbow and a tall tube to fill with feed. It is great. The tube is by the coop door and I can fill it without going in the coop. All you have to do is take a long handled small spoon like an ice tea spoon and scrape the food to the end, Very easy and they don't seem to spill as much.. Very effective! I also made the nipple waterer out of the five gallon bucket and PVC and it works great! The water stays cleaner...both inexpensive to make...

Very nice! I have seen this design in our quail section too. These do work well to reduce waste. Thanks for sharing!
