I'm in the middle of building PVC feeders based on this kind of design. Smallish holes with ports to try to cut down waste, something I can hang in the rabbit cages we're using for quail pens so they don't knock them over and or scratch feed out.
I'm putting them together in my boss's workshop and I forgot to get any pics of the first steps, but once I finish them I'll post some and see how well they work out.
Cheers,
Jessie

There is a video on you tube, the guy puchased plumming parts to make a kitchen trash can into something like this.
The plumming part was a one elbow. he just drilled the hole in trash can and glued the part in it.

He made his for chickens, but you might be able to find 2 inch fitting to make one for quail.

I have one in action now, I need to make another with some minor modifications, but the overall design is working for me.

The primary pieces and my main tool for the task.

Close up side view of the ports in place before gluing them in.

And from underneath.

The finished product in use. I used screw in bases so I can fully empty and clean them with ease and slip on caps to make filling simple.
I didn't have my end caps to mark the base and cut in closer to the bottom, which I will make sure to do on the next one. Also I used 3/4 PVC for the ports and will use 1 inch for the next version, as it's a little too snug. I will also cut the port pieces in half rather than just taking off a small section so I can make more of a distinct lip on the bottom of the port when I cut it out, and cut them a bit shorter to leave more room for the food to drop through the middle.
It was a lot of fun to make, and they fit what I need exactly.
Cheers,
Jessie
