Hi,

I keep the feeder & waterer in the coop all the time for my 6 week old chicks.
Should I leave them inside overnight or remove them from their coop?

Thanks,
David

I have a brooder inside my coop and both my coop and brooder have food and watter available at all times. I know that a lot of people that do remove the food, is to prevent rodents. I get around this by hanging my feeders about a foot off the floor. JMO

I take mine out as when they get bigger they make such a mess with them, and I end up with wet bedding/flooring, so now they are outside, it is also easier for me to collect them up once I have locked my girls up, so I can clean them and refill them ready for the morning

So are they ok without water overnight?
IIRC, my grandmother locked the coop without any food at night.

They don't eat or drink during the night as they
sleep, I just put them back out first thing when I let them out, if I am gona be late letting them out I sometimes put water in but not very often

true mine did that, but i bought rodent water system ( the bottle with the stainless steal tube) and now they get clean water! and it doesnt get dirty! works for me and works for them!

Can chickens use water bottles??? I have them for my rabbits and thought it would be great if my chickens could use them lol
that is what i am using!!!!! :) try it! show them by poking the ball with you finger it will make a noise and they will see the water coming out, trust me they will get it!! mine love it!!
