Feeders and water outside coop

lucky you not having to deal with freezing water :) Where do you live?

I wouldn't do well in freezing temps. This last winter was the coldest I've experienced, besides my visit to NY one Christmas many moons ago. We'd get home from visiting family over the holidays and it was high 20's out here. I live in SoCal, Yucaipa to be exact.

Free choice food and water all the time! They don't eat during darkness, but unless you are out there at dawn, have food and water available in the coop, so they can eat and drink early in the morning, and right before roosting at night. Restricting access to a balanced ration and water is not good. Mary

I keep feed, water and oyster shell in coop, 20170509_092752.jpg . I also keep water and Granite grit under raised coop, 20170503_093342.jpg . I also place a pan of cold water in pen during hot weather that I refill several times a day, 20170518_085827.jpg , that they can step in to cool off. GC
