HOLY SMOKES!!!!!!

I'm guessing my 2 chicks will take FOREVER to get thru 50 pounds!

How many chickens are you feeding? (just curious what quanity eats up 50 pounds a day!)

SHHHH, ya'll are gonna get me so busted. My SO has no clue we are using that much.

He would probably fall out if he actually knew.

Of course there is never a feed bill receipt laying around or anything. I don't see any reason to point it out.

I probably have around 200 birds now. I don't really know the exact amount but there is a bunch.

Oh, I remember when I had only 2 chickens. Do you think I am addicted.
gig.gif

sure hope you are selling eggs to make up for that!

I can see the addiction, but I think my DH would divorce me if I went from my two to two hundred...eeks! LOL...I'm going to try and spread my "farm" addiction over several types of animals in small quanities over the next few years...if I creep them in slowly, he's more willing to build the required homes for them! LOL Next I might work on a bunny? then a goat? then a pig, a calf, a horse, etc...until we have way too many and our feed bill is crazy! LOL

Sounds like you have your addiction all planned out.

I remember when I got my first two hens. They were little bantams. After moving to the country from the city I just loved them. I had never been around any kind of farm type creatures. When I was trying to name them my SO suggested Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was so gullable back then, I thought he was serious.

I have two pot bellied pigs, one is 6 months the other is 3 months. I was talking with my SO the other day saying I was real happy I had gotton the second one since my girls are so close, great friends for each other. He looked me dead in my eyes and said "I'm just happy you stoped at two."

I thought I was gonna fall out of my chair laughing.

Take it slow and think about all the fun your gonna have.

It is a great insanity though. What a wonderful thing for your children to experience. You will be making great memories that will last a life time. I do love raising them from chicks. I love them being tame, coming to me to be petted or looking for food.
gig.gif
Well just go with looking to be petted. Here its farmers around and people don't have chickens for pets much. Its a trip when someone sees how tame they are. I always get asked "How do you get them so tame?" Handle them, dugh!!!
