Feeding a cross-beak hen

Buffy is still small and skinny (although at least she's bigger than my leghorn), but she seems to be holding her weight ok and she is eating out of the milk jug feeders really well. As soon as I open the coop in the morning she runs straight out to the spot in the run where she knows I'll be putting the feeders. And yesterday she laid her first egg! A lovely little pale olive green egg. And another one today. We'll be keeping an extra close eye on her weight to make sure she's doing ok now that she's laying, but so far so good. And she sure does have quite the loud egg song too!
