I have 7 week old chicks that are outside in the coop with an attched run. I have food and water in the run, and food and water inside the coop. Do they really need food inside the coop for night?

Do they really need food inside the coop for night

They won't eat at night, but they WILL eat at first light if there is food available

I keep food and wiater in the coop all the time, and extra places around the yard where they can drink when out roaming

I leave mine in the coop at all times but they only eat when they want nothing more nothing less as for the waterer I have a few but one stays in the coop at all times this way it stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter but no they don't eat at night that is when they roost but for chicks your age it is best to have food for them all the time.
