I've read a few posts about bugs and I want to raise bugs for my chickies! I just can't remember where I found the post about using a 5 gallon bucket per type of bug. I want to raise pill bugs, crickets, and meal worms. So if anyone can remember where the post is about using a 5 gallon bucket or will repost the info here I'd really appreciate it. I'm sure it's something fairly simple like drilling tiny air holes all around it, putting some bedding in and periodically feeding good things as well as keeping a bit of moisture with an apple/potato/spritzing. I just don't remember the specifics. I do want to do all three (separately of course) so if there are different requirements please let me know. Also, where do you store your bug habitat? Do mice try to get in and eat your bugs? Do you just grab a scoop full an toss to the chickens? Is over-population a problem? Okay sorry for the long post and myriad of questions, I just want to do it right. Thanks in advance.
