Feeding chicken to chickens...Serious question

Ok, I know there are alot of people who dont feed chicken to their chickens- I get it. I'm not one of those people, I figure protein is protein and the chickens probably dont care what it is. Plus, I'm not going to waste any leftovers that could feed my hens.

That said- I would like to know if it is safe to give my hens an entire, baked chicken carcass? Well, not the whole thing, just what is leftover from our dinner. No skin or salt, just the carcass with bones and meat to pick at. Do I need to worry about them choking on bones or anything like that? I just was looking to save myself the trouble of picking the carcass for them, if they can do it themselves, why not?

Mine had two turkey carcases after Christmas.....I still find an occasional bone in the coop

No worries, I didn't do anything special for the birds.
I worried MORE about the dogs finding a cooked turkey bone!

Yeah, dogs crunch the bones and can get splinters in their throats. I've watched my chickens eat meat (including chicken legs the kids don't clean off, and picked-over carcasses) -- they bite a bit and shake it to rip off a piece.

I hope I don't die in my coop. My family will never find me.

Ditto. Except that I find an occasional bone in their shavings thesedays....fortunately they are all dried out and the dogs ignore them, but "what if" the dogs got them earlier, ya know?
Eeesh.

I know my dog once in a while finds a cooked chicken wing bone across the street from the gas station that sells hotwings, and it didn't kill her, but I'd like to prevent as much as I can.

Anyway, the chickens stole some of the dogs' raw turkey one day. (I rawfeed the dogs) THAT was a hoot!!!!

Mine do great with it. I saw some pics somewhere here on byc where someone put out what was left of some lobsters for their chickens. Boy did those girls look happy.
