feeding chicks

my RIR peeps are 4 weeks old today,how soon can I start giving them a bit of scratch or crushed corn for a snack?I am sure I read somewhere that feeding them scratch or cracked corn too early can cause problems being that they can,t digest at a young age,also would picking them bits of grass be a problem at their age??

Picking at grass is fine, but scratch is too hard on their developing diogestive systems at such a young age. I held off on scratch until they were fully feathered out, about 16 weeks.
