Feeding Dogs!

That's ridiculous - to have to register a pet. I also didn't realize there were higher fees for intact vs non intact, that's crazy too.

Back in our fostering days, when we lived on acreage in the country, we had an average of 24 fosters at any time, in addition to our own 6. No restrictions or limitations. All were well cared for and properly vetted of course so there was never any concern about neglect, etc. In fact the neighbors would come over when we acquired new fosters to see what we got and it was such a lively, fun place to hang out. Miss those days. Geez I feel old.

We have to pay once yearly for our town to know our dogs have rabies.
Intact is $20 if i remember not intact is a lot cheaper.

Where we are now, I believe our vet may report anyone to the county who is non compliant with required vaccinations. He's a stickler for even the recommended shots, which irks me, but he is also the best provider we've found thus far so we tolerate that knowing other vet options are available, but care is inferior. We've been through seven vets to find this one. Certainly not the cheapest in the county, but the best care we've found yet so we're willing to pay extra for the additional support. He prefers to call you personally to discuss your case, follows up post procedures, etc. A very busy office but it is managed and run like a well oiled machine.

They also make a lot of money off us since I don't dawdle around when I think there may be a problem.

He recently saw our ancient Bassett (17) and commented how "fabulous he looks" for his age. I've been accused of feeding and caring for the animals better than I do the humans......oops

Here intact dogs are $20 and spayed/neutered are $10. More than 4 dogs requires a kennel license. I only have one dog. But every town is different and it’s not statewide. For example, my brother lives next town over and has 3 dogs. They also have the more than 4 has special requirements rule BUT their fees are higher. Spayed/neutered is $15 and intact is $25. $25 is insane to me.

There is an annual license fee here too and rabies vax is required and the dog must have those tags on them when they are in public. No limit on the number of dogs as far as I know but there is an ordinance which states that a dog cannot bark constantly for more than 15 minutes.

Rabies vax required here too and proof of spay/neuter. I think the last one is only if you’re trying to get the discounted fee.

I believe it's the same here, but I just carry my tag in my pack and was told that's fine

Lots of my neighbor's dogs have no tags or expired tags. It makes me wonder if they are up to date on anything else....
