We have 3 Pekin ducks that we keep in an enclosed pen at night. During the day they are in a larger fenced in area of our yard. I feed them Romaine lettuce in the morning and unsalted diced tomatoes in the afternoon. We keep a pan of duck feed in the pen they can get to if they get hungry. I normally keep the food in the pen at night (with water). I think something is getting in and eating the food besides the ducks (either rats or moles). Do I need to keep the food in the pen with them for the night? I'm thinking about changing the location of the food during the day and not giving it to them at night. I plan to keep the water in the pen. We are currently buying a 50 pound bag of feed every 3 weeks and it used to last over a month. There was a dead rat outside of the pen (not sure what killed it) so we know they are around.
