I have been given two ducks male and female approx six months old and I have never had ducks before. Do they have to have special feed or is chicken feed ok?

Making sure the feed has 55mg/kg of niacin... or supplementing with flush free or brewers yeat. You may have t call the company as it isn't usually listed in the guaranteed analysis. Purina flock raiser... DOES have the correct amount of niacin... as I called them, but cannot speak for other feeds... Incorrect levels can cause major leg issues in ducks... here is a great resource for duck information...

They do need water deep enough to dip their head in.

Do you have chickens? Pics always welcome. ;)

The best is a feed specifically for Ducks or one that says it's for all flocks of Birds. Niacin isn't needed as much once fully mature. They can eat veggies, grains, wild birdseed, bugs and grasses.
