Feeding egg shells resulted in chickens eating eggs. I did everything just like people on the forum said. I baked them. I crushed them. I fed them only two times. I went from 9 eggs a day to 6. I saw the deleware peck the egg on my camera and when I got out there all the hens were eating it 😔

I dont even bake mine just leave them to dry out overnight, crush them and feed them to the girls. Never had one eat an egg yet. Sorry that is happening
No it was a tan egg laid on the ground by one of the new chickens. She broke it the white hen did.

I guess the real question is do I have to start over with another flock. I have too many to keep as pets.

Yah im sorry they are eating their eggs after feeding them their egg shells. But every chicken is different, what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for the next. Oyster shell is the next best thing so there's that anyway.

Yes I bet your right. That happened to me but they have never eaten another egg since

It's my best guess since the egg was from a new layer and new layers often have start up glitches resulting in a few less than perfect eggs.
