I have 3 female Cayugas that have been getting Start and Grow (17%) since they were 3 weeks old. I also have 11 chickens I am raising for broilers who get Flock Raiser (20%). I plan to keep the ducks for egg layers. Can I feed them all the 20% protein Flock Raiser to keep it simple?

I feed my ducks Flock Raiser from hatch to lay without any problems. I was adding in some rolled oats to reduce the protein, but we ran out way too fast, so I stopped. [IMG]

I think you can. I'm not sure. I read on the board somewhere you can't feed ducks layer pellets but you can feed chickens flock raiser. I could be mistaken. Someone that has more experience should know.

I feed flock raiser to my geese, ducks and chickens from hatch to lay or table.

Be sure and offer free choice oyster shells in another dish (I have three spread around the property) so that everyone gets the calcium that they need.
