Feeding meaties cracked corn

Can they just eat cracked corn or do they need chick feed? Would they grow slower etc

Cracked corn is only 8% protein, I couldn't imagine it being that great for them to just feed cracked corn. I feed a "lower" percentage protein feed at 18%. Most feed meat chicks 20%+ protein.

More chick starter. My meat birds are on fermented chick starter (18%) and they are 4 weeks old, they will be on it till they are processed.

Ok. Thanks. I thought i'd read that some people switch to a game bird feed. I like the idea of keeping it simple.

I raise mine on a 14 percent protein freshly made feed from start to finish but I also leave the feed in 24 hours a day
