Feeding miscellaneous scraps

I am new to raising chickens. We have an ameraucana and 2 gold sexlinks. They are only 6 weeks old. We just moved them to a run. They have a feeder for their crumbles. Now I'm starting to give them left over veggies from our meals/garden. I was wondering do people put their scraps in a different feeder or just toss scraps in the run? Thanks!

Thanks. Now I'm seeing more flies in the run. Is that common?

of course but they crap in the run and the flies are more prone to be from that not the food{unless there not eating it and its rotting} and after 6 weeks, the build up is just starting...jeff

Flies may be in the run, but probably not from the food.

Food treats are just that.

If more than consumed quickly, you're probably giving them too much at one time.

Just toss them in...
