I have two 2 year old hens and four 5 week old chicks. I will be moving them all together when the chicks are arond 10-11 weeks old and need to figure out what to feed everyone. For now the hens are eating layer feed with oyster shell available and the chicks are on a starter/grower feed. When I move them together can I put everyone on a grower feed and leave oyster shell available for the hens? When would I move them all to layer feed?

Thanks!

That's the exact correct technique for mixed flocks.
It's what I've been doing for years since I usually have a rooster and often other non-layers in each flock. I haven't had any problems. Just make sure they always have oyster shell available.
Switch them all when they're all building egg shells.
Good luck.
