I have tiny Bantum chicks. Parents are actually only 5 months old and probably less than 1 lb. Chicks are tiny. I can't feel that they are filling their crop. I've been hand feeding them. Chick food seems too coarse for their little beaks. I been hand feeding moistened chick feed. how do you feed the tiny peeps? They are Barbu De Watermaels

I lost bantams until I learned to crush the feed a little extra, more into a fine powder.. or to feed wet mash.. both worked well. Fine powder seemed more easily accepted by the chicks themselves, at least until I taught them wet mash was food.

Hatching pullet eggs makes for even smaller chicks than would hatch from hen size eggs.. generally not recommended.

Congrats on your babies! :celebrate
