Feeding only corn and soybean meal

Hi, I am struggling with creating my own broiler feed and I wish to find out can I use only corn and soy meal plus premixes with vitamins and minerals?
Would it be a complete feed?
Any recommendation is more then welcome.
... Or any of your proven recipes.

If the vitamin and mineral premix is correct ratios, the remaining problem is ensuring you have the correct amino acids from the protein source.

And protein derived from plant sources are deficient in lysine and methionine which are essential amino acids which they can not manufacture from other amino acids . These amino acids are added during the manufacture of the feed. Methionine is the precursor for cysteine so if the diet is deficient in the former the later will also be deficient. All 3 of these AAs are the primary building blocks of protein for chickens which is not only meat but feathers are nearly 100% protein also.

To create your own feed out of soy, corn, and vitamin premixes to be a balanced feed for proper development there will need to be a source of animal protein.

Once again this is the most complicated, labor intensive and expensive way to feed chickens. $10.00 on the feed store counter gets you a bag of balanced feed.

Finally some real help. Thanks a lot, well I could easily buy bag but hey where is the fun in that? :) Well this premix which I have has added lysine and methionine so that solves it basically. Do you have any other advice considering making your own feed? What do you think about adding linseeds for omega 3? Would you consider adding a bit of organic olive oil?

I know soymeal is best protein source with like 45% of crude protein but can someone tell me which one is the second best or equivalent. Especially if its organic. Any info helps.

You may run the risk of of rancidity and mold. I use various supplements that would get me crucified by the forum experts here but they are added to the feed on a daily basis to avoid that liability. Because of the consistent high protein content of my feed every chicken I have should be in stage 5 kidney failure and receive diayalysis treatments 2x a week. I do this because I raise for showing at poultry shows. I have a vested interest to make it this complicated.

Unless you have a reason to make feeding your chickens so complicated and costly most likely you will lose interest real fast.

The all time best protein source is the floating catfish chow. What is available to me is 32% protein, animal (pork and fish meal) and soybean based proteins. Lysine and methionine min and max percentages are listed. If you want to put meat on birds this does it. More expensive than a sack of cat chow but at 50lbs it is cheaper per lb.

I forget which amino acid when added to an organic feed, lysine or methionine, instantly disqualifies the feed from meeting the definition of organic.

Then I wont use olive oil or linseed, maybe linseed as a treat from time to time to increase omega 3 in meat.
Well if I mix my own feed it would cost me far less then if I buy and I live in Europe. I wont dramatize too much, will add 2-3 grains, soy + plus premix should do it. And if I get tired by doing so I can always buy bag of a feed. I plan to feed al my poultry this way not just chickens.
