I've got six chickens and one of them just started laying eggs. The first two were fine, but the third had a clear, soft shell, so we went and bought some layer crumble and oyster shell just to give her and have the rest of them on grower feed still, but how much layer feed and oyster shell do I need to make sure she eats so she lays good eggs?

What feed are you using and how old are the other chicks? If they are past 16 weeks give them all layer feed. If not continue with the starter/grower and just give oyster shell free choice. The chicken laying will take what oyster shell they want. The other will not if they dont need it.

A good plan for different aged birds is to give a all flock feed and oyster shell free choice.
