Feeding Peanuts???

Hi I'm new here but this is very interesting!! My concern would be the amount of fat they are getting with the peanuts. That can't be healthy correct?

I don't know if chickens are susceptible, but ducks cannot eat peanuts because of potential aflatoxin contamination, which they are particularly vulnerable to.

OK, I did a quick search and I think you might want to be careful about feeding peanuts to your chickens. A little is probably fine, but be forewarned that if the peanuts are contaminated with aflatoxin (and apparently there is a generally accepted low-level contamination in packaged peanuts), that it can cause decreased egg production and other symptoms like anemia. Here's some information .

Again, a little is probably fine, just don't go overboard.

Doesn't that just pertain to raw foods? I'm not totally clear on that-I would think roasted peanuts that are fresh would be ok in moderation.
