Feeding Raw Salmon...video

I read that it's not advisable to feed them seafood or strong smelling foods because it makes their eggs smell 'off' is that true? Anyone had problems with off-smelling eggs from feeding them seafood?

Although salmon lives part of its life in the sea - I don't think it is considered "sea food" (correct me if I am wrong). Salmon is a flavorful fish (depending on species). I like sockeye (here in the Pacific Northwest) best because it has the most flavor of our local wild species so that is what my girls get.
I have never noticed a taste difference in the eggs because of this.

I DID, however, have onion-flavored eggs from my SLWyandotte who gobbled down slices of red onion one day from a leftover chopped salad (olive oil and ACV dressing - so no harm there).
She did not let any of the others eat them. It was a shock a few days later at breakfast. I thought Whoa - whats with this egg - tastes bit like onion. Then I remembered which bird it was from and what she ate

My Easteregger loves mints and lemon balm (strong herbs) but no flavor change in her eggs either.

On another note - I have heard that it is not advisable to feed them bone or fish meal - not quite sure about the deal with that but... I do like to know what my girls are eating.

I suppose if they had a steady diet of anything smelly like fish in their diet their eggs would have the same kind of taste or smell, but anything in moderation I haven't found to be a problem.

I have tasted store bought Omega Eggs that smell of fish.
