feeding scraps

    i have 4 ex battery hens, feeding them on layers crumbs for a couple of weeks then moving on to pellets. they won't eat anything else i.e. veg, any tips?

    It sometimes takes them awhile to learn how good it is.

    I would put out something that will last, like watermelon rind, for several days. Hopefully, with it just sitting in the run for two days they will finally decide to peck at it.

    Mix scraps with crumbles.
    Start slow at first - with mostly crumbles and some bite size goodies.
    And increase the amounts as they get used to it.
