Feeding Started Pullets

I just ordered 6 week old Red Star started pullets from McMurray Hatchery. What would be the best to feed them until they start to lay and are switched to layer feed? Do I feed medicated starter feed right up till then? Any help will be appreciated.

Feed medicated chick starter until they start laying then switch them to layer. Congrats on your new babies!

Thanks, I'll post some pictures of the coop I built as soon as I have all of it done. I decided to get started birds so I would not have to be concerned with keeping the new chicks warm etc. I know that is why alot of people get day old chicks but since this is the first time I have had chickens since I left the farm in 1968, I thought it would be better. Maybe next time I will go the day old route. Thanks for the help.

At that age, I'd go to grower or a grower/starter combination if straight grower is not available. This Oregon State site will give you good information on feeding chickens.

It's either grower feed or as said above me a mix of grower and starter. Until about 18 weeks or so.
