how much should i be feeding my ducklings? they change from starter to grower in about a week but now they are looking kinda fat lol

My ducks just started on grower feed and go through about a cup and a half of food each a day. They also get to free range for about 10 hours and get lots and lots of treats. When they aren't sleeping or pooping they are eating.

im gonna start feeding them 3 times a day from today, all the food they can eat in 10 mins, thats what storeys guide says... i cant let them eat all the feed they want because they would explode lol, seriously they were eating way too much feed, it was making them kinda podgy too

but do they need grit even when they dont have food? might sound dumb but i dont actually know lol

and i started mixing grower in today too, by thursday they will be on just grower, ive been mixing oats in with the starter because its 18% protein but the grower is only 14.9% so maybe i should gradually stop mixing oats once they are on just grower? what do you guys think?

i need to start giving them grit in the same bowl as their food! what is the right food:grit ratio?

should i feed my ducks as much as they want? they wont be getting a lot of exercise in a 100 foot square run and i dont want them getting too fat

Again, I feed my ducklings non stop and they're not chunkers. If it's quality food I don't think you can feed them too much. You have to take into consideration how much they are growing. You can notice a difference on a day to day basis, so not giving them enough food would be worse than giving them too much.

yeah your right... if they get too fat i can just dangle some treats on a peice of string and make them chase it around the brooder lol
