Feeding Volunteer corn plants

Tried to search the archives, but didnt really find an answer to this question.

Could I feed my chickens, ducks and geese volunteer corn plants from the farmers fields?

I'd want to know how they were treated first. If he's sprayed or dusted with anything then I wouldn't. If it's fallow and those are just what will be there till he plows again, then I don't see the harm.
