Feeding well water to baby chicks...

We have well water and I was wondering if that is a bad thing to give to chicks? My chicks are a week old today and I was told that they could get parasites from the water. Is this true and if so, what do I need to do about it? Thanks!

I'm in Powhatan Va and we have well water. My chicks are almost a month old and all they have had is well water straight out the kitchen faucet. No problems here.

We have well water too. I would be concerned if I had to give them city water! ewwwww

I seriously doubt they'll get parasites from well water. Maybe giardia from stream/river water, but not water from a dug well. I have well water and no ill effects for us or the chickens. In fact, I think mine is safer than city water. Sure tastes better!
